Chris & Alana


Utopia Landscaping was formed in 2013. Chris & Alana’s passion and commitment for creating beautiful, sustainable spaces for our clients is evident in everything they do.

Chris is the Managing Director and leads the Utopia team with commitment, experience and skill and has a genuine passion for creating unique and individual leisure havens for our clients. Chris is also currently acting as Project Manager and coordinates all project requirements including job materials and team resourcing needs.

Chris holds a Cert III in Concreting, Cert III in Wall and Floor Tiling, Cert III in Bricklaying, Cert IV in Pool Building and Construction, Cert IV in Building and Construction, Permaculture Design Certificate.

Alana is the Business Manager and using her corporate background, supports leadership and team development. She is passionate about working with businesses and people to help them grow. Alana is also in charge of “behind the scenes” to ensure that Utopia operates as a professional business and in accordance with all legislative and Council requirements.

Project Manager

May’s relationship with Utopia originally began as a client in 2018, and led to her joining the Utopia family mid-2019. She has recently transitioned to Contracts Admin / Client Relationship Manager.

May has qualifications in office admin and small business operations, customer service as well as Contracts & Security of Payments training.

May assists clients from their initial enquiry, liaises with subcontractors, the Project Manager and Supervisor throughout the project life to ensure completion of job in accordance with Contract requirements and client satisfaction.

May’s ability to relate to the client’s sees her training and life experience blend together to help each client with completing their desired pool surround. Her key focus is communication and understanding the clients expectations.

Office Manager

Cath joined Utopia mid 2020 to assist with WHS, HR & marketing. Cath brings a wealth of knowledge gained from almost 20 years previous experience at construction and engineering firms, where she was involved in the creation and implementation of company policies and procedures. Cath has a Diploma in Events, and has also studied Marketing and Small Business Management.

Site Supervisor

Zech has been a core member of the Utopia family since 2014. As site supervisor, Zech ensures our team produces high-quality work, consistent with client expectations.

Holding a Cert III in Horticulture and Landscaping, Zech’s passion is the creative process.  He loves coming up with designs for each client and seeing a blank canvas turn into a masterpiece.  For him, creating a family’s leisure space from start to finish is where he finds great satisfaction and fulfilment.

Leading Hand

Ben completed his Landscaping Construction Apprenticeship with Utopia. He comes from a varied background with experience and qualifications in graphic design, resort management and millwrighting in Canada.

Such extensive experience has developed him into an incredibly hard worker with a great eye for detail. We’re so glad that life directed him our way!

Joel completed his landscaping apprenticeship in 2019 and comes to Utopia with a wide variety of landscaping experience and skills.  Joel loves to spend his spare time in the great outdoors surfing, camping, boating, on his motorbike, or with his blue cattle dog.

“I really love Utopia’s happy work environment and the variety of work we do.  It is an honour being able to bring a client’s vision to reality”



Jack completed his Landscape Construction apprenticeship in 2020 and comes to Utopia to enhance his already wide variety of skills.

In Jack’s spare time, he can be found in 4WDing on the beach or in the bush, or spending time with family.

“I love being a part of the team and love the working environment.  Seeing the end result and how happy it makes the customer, just makes the job even more worth it.’


Plant Operator/Trades Assistant

Steve has recently joined the Utopia family after having his own excavation business for over 22 years and therefore understands the importance of delivering high quality services.  He brings extensive experience in excavation, earthmoving and various plant operations.  Steve uses his spare time to enjoy boating, fishing, and spending quality time with his family.

“I enjoy helping the company achieve completion of projects to the highest quality.”



Zack joined Utopia in 2019 after completing his first year apprenticeship. Zack has continued to build on his skills and always enthusiastically participants in all training. Zack can sometimes be found unicycling or juggling in his lunchbreaks.

“I choose to work at Utopia as I love the transformation process of implementing a client’s dream”



Regan is always happy to contribute to making the work environment fun. Regan has a natural love of the outdoors, and in his spare time, can be found either surfing or playing soccer.

“I enjoy the positive work environment that Utopia provides, especially for me as an apprentice.  I also really love the creative work we do”.



Jonah comes to Utopia with an eagerness to learn the intricacies in what we do.  Jonah loves working in nature, and has previously worked in wildlife sanctuaries and animal preservation organisations.

“I enjoy being part of Utopia because it gives me the chance to work outdoors with a group of mates to construct beautiful pool surrounds.”
